Valve lash on CG engines increases as the engine heats up. If the valves are closed well enough to get it started you're not going to burn a valve. Some owners and shop manuals for CG engines call for .002" for both valves. Some call for .002" intake and .003" exhaust. The Honda shop manual for the original CG 125 calls for .003" on both valves. I use .002" on all my CG engines to keep them as quiet as possible but any clearance up to .005" shouldn't be a problem except for a bit of noise.
