I HOPE they do lower it to $2195 as I am considering buying one. But if they can move product at that price, I don't see why they would. Seems like there is a lot of interest for this bike. If they sell more or as many CR250's at $2400 than T250's at $2195, doesn't make much sense to lower the price. Unlike the Hawk 250, there isn't a cheaper version out there for drop-ship of this one, as far as I can tell.
For a cheap standard motorcycle, even at $2400, there isn't much in its price range. Sym Wolf and the Kymco Spade are both about $500 more with smaller motors. They both have dealer networks but good luck with finding them in some areas. I won't even suggest CCW.
