Most, if not all of the Japanese manufacturers have relationships with the big Chinese manufacturers. If not for complete motorcycles at least for parts. This is a list of a few countries/manufacturers but it is not a complete list, obviously. The only company listed for Thailand is Honda A.P. I did not include Thailand in the list because it was so short. I know for a fact that Kawasaki, Triumph and Ducati all have plants there. Zongshen builds Harley-Davidson motorcycles in China for that market and parts for the US market. This is also widely known. This list is probably a few years old.

I understand that you specifically mentioned Japan/China and Chinese manufacturing but these countries have close relationships with Chinese manufacturing. Many US companies do as well. The thing to remember with Chinese manufacturing is that, if you want quality you must pay for it. They have all the capabilities of modern manufacturing. China will dominate the market in a few years if things do not change.
