how small is your girlfriend and nephew? Depending on your nephew's size, he may outgrow the 17/14 by the time he's 16. I got the 14/12 for my grandson who is 12 now. he won't be one it long, I don't think. 17/14 will be next in probably 2 years. then move to full size at 16. as for power though, it's got pretty good power. Try to find one with a 1-N-2-3 shift pattern. might as well teach them to shift the same as all the bigger bikes.
BTW...I bought from PowerSportsMax when I got the 125. mine is the DB-X20. I specifically bought it for the zong motor.
