A pitbike is an excellent recommendation, and they are much cheaper. It is also very true that learning how to handle a motorcycle (and a clutch) will make you a better driver on the road, either on two or four wheels. Learn to break the rear tire loose and do sliding turns, wheelies, jumps. Not only fun, but instructive!
