The safest chain size to recommend without knowing what sprocket sizes people are changing to would be the 120 link RK SO chain.

Tires I have not worn my factory OEM knobbies out yet. I had originally planned for 70/30 Shinko 705 Series Dual Sport Tires for a name brand tire. For a cheap no name tire from Amazon I don't know, I have not studied any of the off-brand tires yet.

I've run Shinko 705's on my Suzuki V Strom 1000 for years. Great tire on the road, but I'd steer clear if you plan on riding dirt much. Kenda K761 is great on small bikes if you ride a lot of pavement, Shinko 700 if you're planning on a little more dirt. I've run them both at some point. My Templar will be heavily dirt biased, so I'll likely put Tusk D Sports on mine soon. I really like Dunlop D606's, but they don't last long at all. D Sports aren't bad, a little greasy on the street-but they last for a while.
