Yes, many sport bikes use "spools." The T-Rex can lift the motorcycle either by the swingarm or by spools! To choose either method you merely rotate the gold-colored lifting arms. Since my dual sport motorcycle does not have spools, I am lifting my bike by the swingarm itself. It's a very nice swingarm stand. However, the price has gone up ten or fifteen dollars since I bought it last summer. :(
