Hi I am no newbie but have been using using blue loctite on my R/C helicopters for the last 30 years. Failure could result in death and I have never had an issue with it. Red is only used sparingly for some clutch to engine installs.
Just becasue it's stronger doesn't make it more appropriate for the rest of us so called newbies.
