Yes, those mounts would have too much flex, but they should only be used for mock-up. The final product should be cut from mild steel plate, approximating the thickness of the original mounts.
If practical, a third mount at the top of the engine would be wise, but not likely critical. I think that fat tube above the engine is the fuel tank, so a person would have to be careful to not burn through when welding it.
