Ya I am going to start with a carb rebuild kit. When I purchased the ATV the carb was not installed and looks like a few parts are missing. Which I am sure is part of the issue with the hard starting/ flooding. When I did have it running there was a noticeable ticking noise. So I went to adjust the valves... removed the 4 bolts on the valve cover and wasn't able to remove the cover as there is no room in front of the motor as the frame is right there. So it looks like the engine has to be completely removed to adjust the valves which seems like a big job. I might be able to move the cover over just enough to adjust the valves without completely removing the cover or the motor from the frame. Something I will attempt when I have more patience. My brother in law has a compression tester so I will get a reading soon. Looks like this winter I will be taking the motor off anyway to possibly do a rebuild.
