Regarding the stator wiring, I know the pain that is colour change at a connector. It is so challenging to trace a wiring problem when the damn wire changes colour.
I'm amazed that the centrifugal oil filter came loose. Do you have the tool that is needed to remove and install the nut? Also, note that the three cover screws are not Philips, but JIS.
