According to Spud's tutorial, you drop the motor.
Chonda didn't have to in his PP. If I do have to drop the motor, I'm painting the entire top end black. I always thought it was a little funny looking to have the black side cases with a sliver head sticking up.
Besides, having the motor on the bench will be the easiest valve adjustment ever performed!
