This is the left side of the bike, looking up at the bike more zoomed out and mark where it is. I noticed at least one drip on the outside of the engine case - but I wiped it before I thought to take a photo. There is definitely some residue on top of the bash plate underneath as well.

Whatever it is, it was semi congealed - and light brown in color at least that's what it looked like when wiped by a paper towel. Any ideas?

I suspect you are seeing grease/lubricant being shed from the drive chain.
