This is usually due to a third party vendor who's actually doing the shipping. If Amazon has the products in their fulfillment warehouse, it goes out fast. If they "deflect" your order to the vendor and they ship it, Amazon doesn't really have any control over that. That said, if you cancel the order through Amazon after you've been charged, I've never had a problem with them immediately crediting my card.
The first sprocket I ordered from them for the TT250, I cancelled the order after about 2 weeks of waiting and the status was still "not yet shipped". After I cancelled the order, I found a different 3rd party vendor in Amazon, reordered and it showed up in 5 days.
My aftermarket levers for my RX3 came from China....and they were on the "slow boat". Other than those, I've had pretty good luck with Amazon.
