Picture comparison of boom Vader gen 1 & gen 2
Does anyone have a good picture of the side of a gen 2 Vader and a gen 1 vader!?
I'm stuck between choosing between Vader gen 2 or lil du , maybe even Vader gen 1... Sorry for posting so much |

Thoughts? I heard somewhere the emissions was harder to access on the boom Vader 2?

If you really don't have any personal preference , the first thing i'd say is can you get a better deal on either ? If you could get a Gen 1 for less I'd do that since there really isnt any mechanical difference between the two.
Also, nothing against the Lil Duc at all, but to make sure you have the max amount of parts interchangeability with Groms , I'd get the Gen 1 or Gen 2 over a Lil Duc since we know for sure more Grom plastics etc will fit those than will fit the Lil Duc bodystyle. One final thing is if you are a taller guy the hump in the Gen 2 seat is a lot bigger making it harder to slide back, so the Gen 1 seat is "roomier" for taller riders .Theres not a huge difference but the Gen 1 Vader is usually a bit more comfortable for taller peeps than the Gen 2 Vader bc of the seat design.

I spoke to Pete at Kronik. He said he sold someone a Vader who was 350 or so pounds. The guy rode it from Simi Valley to Culver City bone stock. It took him 3.5 hours for what is normally under half that (1.5 hours includes freeways), but the bike was bone stock (not broken in) and had to be ridden up and over the Santa Susana Pass out of Simi into the San Fernando Valley, and then up Sepulveda Blvd. Including the Sepulveda Pass. A very large guy on a brand new stock 125cc Vader.

I'm wondering if I'm tool tall for the boom Vader 2 to be comfortable.

They're pretty much all the same bike. Just different plastics and plastic mounting tabs/points.
Go with the one you like or as RedCrowRides... get the one with the better deal. I'd stay with a Grom clone instead of a SSR Razkull clone as you'll be able to swap Grom plastics on if you need to and Grom parts are easier to find. I'm 6' and never had an issue on my Icebear Fuerza. With my 2020 Grom, don't have an issue either. |
