Can I fit pillion footrest pegs?
Hello everyone.
Just bought a cheap 50cc from Direct Bikes. Never had a two wheeled anything before. It turned up today..BUT I need to be able to carry 6yr old pillion around town when needed but his feet dont reach the designated footrest areas. I know this is a legal requirement, so can I install pegs higher up to make it legal, or is it illegal to "modify" in this way? Please help |

I thought about adding some wood blocks on top of the passenger pegs. Then put something grippy on top of that.
Make sure the kid has something to hang onto. |

Thanks for the quick response.
I bought a model that has passenger grab handles. And I bought one of those safety belts with the handles either side for me to wear and for him to grab onto. Safety, safety safety |

I think I woul just cut a couple blocks of wood. Paint them black and bolt them on over the stock footrest area. When the child gets bigger cut them down or remove them. |
