Neutral Spring & Pin ??

I guess i must of taken the wrong drain plug out (newbie mistake) when i changed the oil and a pin and spring fell out, i've put them back in but soemtime nuetral is hard to find, Can anybody tell me which way the pin goes and how to reset it so nuetral is easy to find again ???

I just went through the entire parts manual that Andrew downloaded and I don't see what you accidently removed. I have two plugs on mine. Either can be removed. I'll have to take a look at my bike tonight.

I think he has the 125, I don't know if it's that similar to the 200.

Sorry yes its the 125 bike, i looked in my bike manual and it says Don't remove the wrong one or else you'll have trouble selecting neutral, well this was after the fact, There's a normal drain plug on the rhd side of the engine (as your sat on it) and the another on a plate thats held in by 3 bolts on the lhd. I've been mesisng with bikes since i was 14 and thought (great thing i know) it was the normal looking drain plug as looking at the diagram it just pointed underneath the bike.

Wow! What you're explaining sounds exactly like the underneath of my 200!....but the one with the plate held in by 3 bolts IS called a drain plug if you check ou the Q parts manual! 8O
I drained mine with the other plug before I looked into it further. Think I'll stick with it.... 8)

As you can see in the manual



any idea ppl on the correct fitment of them ?? When i removed the plug the spring and pin just dropped into the bucket so don't know which way they go back in.

Why do they show the rhd side of the engine when the drain plug is on the lhd side ??? Hence the confusion :roll:

I know that you have the 125 and mine is a 200 but they sure look the same to me.
I have the two bolts in the bottom and I removed the smaller, chrome-headed one (toward the brake pedal side of the motor) to drain it the first time, instead of what I found later was the 'real' drain plug in the middle of the plate with the 3 bolts.
I guess I got lucky???????????

Is that the same one you removed?

Yeah its the same, normal looking drain plug with what looks like a cooper washer on it, most drain plugs have them on so thought it was the same. Heard you can't fill them with Synthetic oil either ?? Just mineral or semi synth is this correct do you know ???

Oil....big topic. Many opnions.
I run synth in all my bikes. No problems.
The Vics get Amsoil V Twin.
The CB's get Rotella T6 from Wally World.

I'll cast another vote for Shell, Rotella, T6, Synthetic motor oil. I have used it for most of the 40,000 miles I have ridden my Zong
