Nextstar 250cc ATV

Hello All,

My son and I acquired a couple of Chinese ATV projects. One of which is a NextStar. Anybody heard of this atv? We are having trouble with getting it running smoothly. It appears that we have narrowed it down to a unit that appears to be some sort of vacuum system. I would almost think it is a vacuum fuel pump, but one of the 3 lines goes to a port into the cylinder. Here is a pic. Any help would be great.

Welcome! I need some context; please take a step back and snap another pic.

Also, please show us the port in the cylinder. I suspect what you're seeing is an air injection device, which pumps air into the exhaust stream for a catalytic converter. If that's the case, you might find a noticeable bulge in the exhaust header, just downstream from the cylinder head.

Thank you for taking a minute for me. It is much appreciated. Here are some additional pictures I took. There are 2 larger hoses (and again I am not even sure these hoses are going to the righ places). One hose goes to the cylinder and the other to the crank case. Then there is a small hose that goes to the intake manifold. Here are the photos (sorry they are so large).

That's the very device I was describing, and most of us delete it. Does your exhaust pipe have a bulge in it, right near the heat shield nuts?
