Engine break-in

I bought a Canyon 250 and it arrived a couple days ago. It has a drive shaft not chain, does anyone know if I’m supposed to change the drive shaft oil after the break-in like the regular motor oil and if so what do you recommend I use for drive shaft oil.

The ATV should have come with some sort of owner's manual. If not, these machines are usually based on Honda and/or Yamaha ATVs. Search for the same size, shaft driven ATV of either of these brands to get your info. Sometimes the weight of gear oil is shown on the gear housing. If I'm not mistaken, 80w90 is often the weight needed. Most here will recommend that both the engine and gear oils should be changed before it's even started. The fluids that the ATV comes with is almost always a very cheap shipping oil that's pretty much designed to prevent rust.

Nice looking machine, by the way.
