Rear Shock For apollo 250
So I'v seen recommendations on buying an older CRF250 shock but there needs to be some modding done with the bike and I don't have the tools for drilling.
Would this one work instead? https://www.motopartsmax.com/index.p...SABEgIjivD_BwE |

That one won't work. The reservoir is at the back. Has to be on the side. I went to a lot of trouble last year putting on a honda like shock. Lots of fabricating and a little welding to get it to fit. Incredible ride on the rear now. BUT.....it really makes the front feel terrible. The back end sticks up really high. Not a problem until I start down a steep hill. Rear rises and unloads making the bike feel like its gonna flip over at times. Rear brakes become useless. Not a good feeling. If I were you, I would just stick with the stock shock. Maybe look for one with no reservoir and stock length.

You just won't know til you get it. That side reservoir may or may not clear the frame. You may still have to relocate the upper mounting hole on the frame. Welding required. Also you won't know if the bottom clevis will fit on the pivot assembly on the swing arm. I had to machine mine out about .125".

It is a little different. It came out on a water cooled version sold everywhere but the USA. Lots of parts interchange but not all. Plastic tank works great. So does the passenger pegs. Be careful and do your research.
