Hawk is ALMOST the way I want it! ?'s on jetting

As some of you know I bought my hawk off CL with a destroyed piston. After getting her going again she is running great! New tires, digital cluster, new performance pipe.

Installed a VM26 and airbox mod and can't get the jetting right.

Currently has a 110 and stock pilot. Odd that is starts right up cold with NO Choke! Actually Choking it won't even run.. Anyhow 1/4 to mid throttle sometimes has a hiccup. Plug is nice brownish color now. HATE taking carb off as gasket doesn't fit well and PIA in general.

Prob nothing to do with jetting but On De acceleration it shoots 6 inch flames (no spark arrestor for now)

Go with 115-30 or 120-30 and raise the needle 1 slot from the middle,that cured my hawk's back firing.

Well, I can tell you that with airbox mods and a free flowing exhaust both jets are awful lean. How new is the plug? What kind of air filter are you running? If it was me, I'd put a new plug in, ride it around for twenty minutes, get it on a 55 mph road, run it wide open for the better part of a mile, and do a plug chop, then pull the plug and tell us what it says...ARH

i ended up with a 120 main jet and a 22.5 pilot with the needle clip 1 slot above center, that was after i cut the air box and gutted out the cat. converter,
set the air enrichment screw at 1.5 turns out and go from there

mine seems to like this

i might going up on the main again just to see how it responds .
