Carb issue driving me nuts.

I put an aftermarket exhaust and a pod filter in place of my airbox on my storm. Now I'm having a hell of time jetting it. I've tried with my stock Pz30 and the pz30b I got from Tako with the same results. Idles beautiful, past quarter throttle it falls on its face, full is OK for a second. I have tried a 34-42 pilot with neat the same results. Also have tried 110-20 main with no luck and a the af screw between half and 3 turns out. Only other thing than changed is I adjusted the valves when I had it apart. Ran perfectly before this adventure lol. I attached a video of me rolling on the throttle in nuteral. Once you get to near 3/4 throttle it clears up, at least in nuteral. While in gear if you crack it full throttle it takes of for a second and starts sputtering, adding choke doesn't help either so I don't think it's lean .any suggestions?

Since it clears up at 3/4 throttle, I'd shim the needle to raise it up.

Forgot to say it is shimmed some, the stock needle is not slotted so I'm shimming with machine screw washers. I need to measure the needle off the other carb I guess and see where this one stands. Swapping needles can cause issues of its own.

Ugh, I'm an idiot... Cheap ass pod filter I got off amazon is the issue. Inside diameter is tiny, never noticed. I blame Amazon because the unifilter I wanted was out of stock lol. Took it off and jetted back up and its 90% there. Currently have it at 45/118 1.5 turns. Has a flat spot at the 3/4 to full transition I need to tune out but the damn thing goes down the road again! Will probably drop to a 42 pilot as it seems rich down low.

MtnManPoe had the exact same issue with that pod filter. Poor fella bought 2 additional carbs and a slew of jets for his Hawk before figuring out it was the filter. Be sure to post a long nasty review on Amazon so others don't fall victim to that garbage filter.

Uni 2-Stage Angle Pod Filter - 44mm I.D. x 102mm Length UP4182AST https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WJIX6W..._RSLFDbY5J9N8N

Unifilters are normally solid, oil the foam if it's in a dusty environment.

I have had great luck with the cheap ($10) 43/44mm I.D. angled dual foam pod filters from ebay. I have a couple on hand to swap out so I always have a clean one. No inner restriction on them.

Rad. I have washed and re-oiled mine several times, once a month for a year. I bought the 20 dollar KN oil spray and cleaner spray kit at auto zone. I’m guessing the kit and filter are probably going to outlast the motor.

I have a K&N kit somewhere in the garage. I ride most on road so it should stay clean for awhile. May put a sock on it to help keep water off it if i run into rain since there is nothing blocking spray off the tire now.
