Noticable change

just passed 400 miles on my 2016 hawk and the performance of the engine is starting to really change. enough to notice while riding. someone said that it would but i would not have believed that you could really tell while riding but it is that much of a difference. im running a 17/50 on the sprockets right now and it cruises at 55-60 at half throttle. top speed seems to be around 70 sitting up and 75-80 layed down on the tank. not done a valve adj yet. maybe this week. vibrations are way down too. its still really cold blooded on start up so im going up anther half turn on the bottom screw making it two turns in total to see if that helps and maybe up the jet another step to a 115. all that said it is still more fun than you can shake a stick at straight out of the box!

I have a little over 800 miles on mine. It's like night and day from when I 1st got it. Is that speed with the stock speedo or GPS? I hope you are not relying to the stock speedo for accuracy. My speedo was within a couple mph when I 1st got it but notice it is getting farther off as I put miles on it. I use my GPS for my speed indicator. Fastest I ever got was 74 mph on the GPS with the 15/40 sprockets. I plan on getting a digital cluster but that I on hold right now. The Hawk budget is a little low until I get my tax refund.

Yep, huge difference on the CG motors. Main reason why you really don't want to mod until it really loosens up. Then you can dial the jetting around your pipe and breather of choice, etc...

Pete, Which trail tech unit is recommended for this bike? I have the digital cluster, but I would like to get some more info from the engine. I have a trail tech vapor on the DR, and I like being able to see the Head Temp and such. Thanks.
