Just got a Shark 250

Assembled today. Changed oil with gastrol gtx motorcycle 10w-40. Manual calls for 15w-40 auto parts store said its desiel oil. Whats everyone else use on hawks and similar bikes. Maunal calls for 1.1L i put in 1L seem to be quite low. Its about 1/4 to 1/8 filling the window

Congrats! New Bike Day (NBD) is always a Great day!

I think it took about 2 weeks to get my paperwork. Plenty of time to set up your bike, read lots of posts and get your parts list going!

my mso from safer took 1 month...they drag their feet processing all things..and treat you like your are an annoyance when you call, and they do not answer emails. i paid for tracking for my mso,as they told me when i first requested and they never used it. guys that answer the phones there are complete arses

I use Rotella T 15w-40 diesel oil in all of my bikes. I have done this for over 10 years and have never had a break down due to oil problems.

Diesel oil is more than fine for bikes. The reason it works so well is that it generally lacks friction modifiers, which most modern automotive oils have in them. That makes them wet clutch friendly. They also tend to have a lot of compressive modifiers and are engineered for high heat and high shear resistance. Diesels are a rough place for oil.

Many member have been using the cheap 'Rotella T' diesel oil 15W-40 for years in their enduros and report they have nothing but good things to say about it. Do not worry (or hesitate) to use it in your Hawk!

I just noticed you were from Bellevue! Whenever my Hawk arrives we should go find some trails, or we can just ride around, as i always have my goldwing, and I just finished her this weekend.

As far as i know the DMV shouldn't be a problem here in Nebraska. More than a few people have registered here without any issues. This state is generally pretty relaxed with registering unconventional vehicles.
