Oil filters
Couldn't really find anything on this in the search bar... Just wondering how often you guys change out your element type oil filters and what they are worth. Prices on the Konker filter are $20 US from Konker (funny how a Canadian outfit charges in US dollars?) and about $40 shipped on ebay for the K&N KN131 filter. Shipping is more than the filter. Canadian Tire doesn't stock that size and didn't seem too interested in ordering it. Makes an oil change cost well over $25 CDN. Maybe the trick is just not to change the filter too often or am I missing a supplier with better prices?

Go to a motorcycle dealer and order the HF131. They should be able to get it for you as it's a common filter.

I did a little more hunting on ebay and found the Hi-Flo filters for a good price and got a shipping discount on 4 of them... Came to just over $5.00 a filter. Now I wish I hadn't bought the one from Konker for $20, though I will almost be surprised if I actually receive it.

I think I will get scolded for this but if filters cost that much, I would skip the filter and change the oil more often! Take it out and throw it away!

Its a regular common #131 filter. IU think a K and N or Fram is in the 5-10 dollar range.

I'm glad you found a good price for the oil filter. My Zongshen 200GY-2 employs a reusable oil filter with a metal screen, the same oil filter employed by the Yamaha TW200, and XT225 motorcycles.
