Hawk 250 recommended oil

Hi, guys I have been searching this forum and others but can't find any real good reasons and recommendations on certain oils for the hawk. I was told after 500miles to put in synthetic but some guys say it can ruin the seals. Not sure on that but the only reason I wanted to run it is for longer oil changes. but I was told since these don't have filters you can't go past 1500miles anyways with dyno or synth. So makes no sense wasting money on synth unless it helps with shifting or something to me if I gotta change the oil so soon its wastefull. So why are guys recommended synth? And what is the oil change frequency on this bike with dyno oil? Thanks for any input.

Synthetic is better at resisting breakdown from high temps and it is more shear resistant at a molecular level, helping it to maintain it's viscosity for longer.

There are guys on here with thousands of miles that ran nothing but regular mineral oil (Dino oil). I had 2700 miles on my Hawk, ran nothing but Rotella T4, and never had a problem. After break in I generally changed the oil every 500 or so miles. I likely could have gone longer, but aircooled engines aren't friendly to oil, especially with a small capacity like these bikes.

One way to help extend oil life would be to install an oil cooler. This will also help extend the life of the clutch and keep the engine itself more thermally stable.

If I had to pick on spending the extra money on synthetic, or installing an oil cooler, the oil cooler would win every time.
