Whats Easier when achieving a 50/50 dual sport?

Opinions Please:

Whats easier, to take a dirtbike and convert to street or converting a street to a dirt bike?

Im considering a china bike dual sport. The DB36 dirt bike has the features I want but not street legal/no tachometer, etc. The DB36 delux doesnt have the wheel setup im looking for (im told by their support, they are not interchangeable).

Which would you do; make a dirt bike street legal or make a street legal dirt oriented?

It would definitely be easier to get the deluxe and find some 21"/18" wheels for it. Or just look at other bikes such as the Orion RXB250L

Do look at the RXB250L from Orion. It's pretty much a 100% offroad bike with some lights and a dash added, and comes with a "motorcycle" MCO instead of an "offroad motorcycle" MCO. In my state that makes things MUCH easier to get it on the road, same process and any other new vehicle. To get an offroad bike plated here you have to go through inspections with the state police and a few other extra hurdles. Here's mine, I have about 250 miles on it so far and liking it a lot!

Beautiful bike! If the RXB250L would of been available years ago when I bought my Hawk I wouldn't be owning a Hawk. But still loved my Hawk as she is now.

build a sumo and learn how to ride it on dirt...LOL thats what i did... pissed off a lot of riding buddies when i rolled up like that... street tires on a dirt bike can be ridden quickly, barring muddy situations...

I was having a hard time deciding between the Apollo DLX and the Hawk when I found this one... lol I rode the offroad version of the Apollo and decided I wanted one, but wanted something road legal too, there's way too many dirt and gravel roads to ride out here... I'm glad I went with the RXB, but I'd still like to get a Hawk too at some point. They look so fun!

I would get the dual sport and take off what you dont need. It's easier to remove stuff than add it back later if you wanted to make it street legal. Also took a peek on the Orion web site looks like they have some nice bikes wish I knew about them before. Really digging that rxb150xl it be a wicked little ride with a daytona 212 swap.
