Hawk Battery

I went out to change a clutch cable this morning and i noticed what at the time appeared to be a puddle of water under the Hawk, the taste test confirmed it was battery acid.

if you look you can see that the battery is leaking where the top and bottom half come together in the right corner behind the negative terminal , I cant explain this one and I couldn't find a replacement locally so i guess i will have to order one.

Yikes! Looks like you have some kind of serious chafing in the battery box. Better figure that out before you install a new battery...ARH

Yeah. The picture of the damaged side of the battery is fuzzy, but it sure looks chafed to me. How did you're clutch cable kit work out?...ARH

Clutch cable was an easy one,. The venhill replacement kit is super easy to put together and install. I couldn't find any obvious damage to the original cable.

I know the pic is kind of sketchy but the case has a crack about 1/2" below the negative post right on the corner

I once caught a kid drinking battery acid. His mate was eating fireworks. I charged the first one , but let his mate off.
