Georgia
I am from Jasper, GA and am looking to get a China dual purpose motorcycle. I have found an actual shop that has a Roketa for $1600 and it seems nice but, maybe a little expensive compared to mail order.
I also wanted to say thanks for all the great information on this site and look forward to more and hope one day I can add some knowledge. |

Welcome Dan, You found the right place for info.
I've only been a member a short time and I've learned a lot about China bikes from these guys. Good luck.

Welcome Dan, also form GA.
That is not too bad for a dealer price and the roketa have a good overall report. What is most important is that the dealer can get it registered in GA and will be able to get you parts if you need them. Allen

Listen to that Kato guy he's good.
A B&M store can be a help, especially for parts, and a face to complain to. |

Ask him for his GA motor vehicle dealer license if you are unsure.
He should have about an 8 digit number that he puts on the back of the MCO and is current. I would think you could call the state to inquire about him also. At that price I would consider the bike. Espicially if it is an out the door with tax, title, and tag. Any warranty? Allen

The dealer is in Norcross (Cougar Cycle) and seemed to be legit and I got the feeling the price is negotiable. He said there would be no problem getting it tagged and that parts would not be a problem. I will inquire about a warranty.

Welcome!
I'm glad to see another fellow Georgian on the forums. I'm on the south side of Atlanta, in the Jonesboro area. There's another dealer in Norcross that a few others (including myself) have considered for the Lifan brand bikes, called Power Sports Unlimited http://www.powersportliquidators.com/default.htm If nothing else, maybe it'll give you a little something to compare if you do go to the other dealer...or better yet, maybe a little bargaining tool. Best of luck!

there's a distributor over in tucker, ga called moto dealer import that sales the GY and stocks a boat load of parts. the only thing is you have to be a dealer to purchase the bike or atvs from them. there's a 5 unit initial requirement to become a dealer then after that, no minimums. If you have you and 4 other friends pool your money and buy 5 units and get them cheap at dealer cost. and it wouldn't have to be 5 GY's, it could be 1 GY and 4 little $299 atv. just a thought. you can check them out here: http://www.motodealerimport.com/index.htm
As far as the parts go, anyone an go and buy parts from them. |

Thanks for all the replies. I have been looking at several different brands and sat on a United Motors DSF200 and the seat height was about perfect but it cost twice as much as others.
This weekend I am going to go to a Q-LINK dealer and have a look, however, now that I know I can easily get parts for the GY (thanks for the info bsheppar) that is looking like the best value. I have also signed up for the MSF but the waiting list is long so it will be the end of June when my class starts. Once again thanks for the welcome and the info! |
