Lifan xpect stator

Has anyone replaced the stator on a Lifan xpect. I am having charging issues and when I removed the stator cover it was full of oil. The stator and magneto were soaked. Is that normal? If not it would probably indicate a bad crank seal. This is my first chinese bike and I bought it used so I have no dealer support. I did a google search and couldn't get a definitive answer so I'm hoping someone out there has some first hand experience with this.
