Couple ? About The Lifan 200

I have been recently looking at the lifan 200 and I dont know what to do. Perhaps you can help me

My choices for where to buy the bike is online for 1399 shipped (the website im looking at is motoxtreme but I would order from any reputable site.
From one dealer that doesnt have them in stock but can order them but since hes only ordering one he has to pay shipping so he said it would come out to 1650. Or From another (bigger) dealer that has them for sale for 2200. I almost cried after traveling for two hours and then seeing a two for the first digit on the price tag :(

Another problem is that the first dealer cant get them street legal and the second dealer already has them street legal. But for that price I can get a nice used Jap bike lol.

The first dealer said I wouldnt be able to get it street legal because new york doesnt allow any bike that has offroad only on the MSO (not sure if this is true but does the lifan 200 have that on the MSO)

Does anyone know any website that is reputable and actually will send you parts under warranty and handle the whole MSO situation.

Please Help :(

I picked mine up online from motoextreme (GY-5) on a Friday and received it the following Wednesday. Put it together runs great!

According to Lifan the gy-2 and gy-5 are just motorcycles(not off road) and the gy-5 has the DOT and the EPA sticker.

Oh ok thanks.

Just to make sure is this the website you got it from?

Plus if you get it from online is it a grey market bike or can it be an american lifan?

I called American Lifan to find an American Lifan Dealer and they gave me his number and a number in Nebraska. Motoxtreme was friendly and helpful. The Nebraska number never called me back. I hmmed and hawed about a week then finally ordered from Motoxtreme and am very happy!

You have the right site for him.

Oh and another thing I forgot to mention. Ive seen both round speedos and rectangle speedos. The rectangle has a tach and the round doesnt (as to what I know). How do you know which speedo goes on which bike?

I am not sure what you are asking but mine has both a Speedo and a Tach. If I get a chance I will post a pic later tonight.

I believe the MSO on mine stated motorcycle and said nothing about off-road only. Brian should be able to answer that question.

My bike has both a speedo and tach and I believe all the American Lifan bikes do. The entire guage set is rectangular.

Some of the other china bikes just have the speedo that is round I think.

That gauge looks like the Roketa DB-07 I was looking at.

Any Roketa bikers to agree/disagree?
