New bike…bad bearings
So just got a little under 200 miles on the new kpm. Riding home from work tonight I start hearing a scraping noise. Thought maybe caliper was dragging a little. So I got home and put it up on a stand and sun the rear wheel and I could clearly see the pads were not rubbing on the rotor. My guess is that that rear bearings are going out already. I’ve replaced bearings before on shaft driven bikes but not on sprocket driven bikes. Anything to look out for? Advice? And does anyone happen to have a couple of bearing numbers? Tried the search function but no luck on the kpm or the kpr as far as info.

Contact American Lifan or the dealer you bought it from. Lifan has a 2 year/12,000 mile part warranty.

Yeah, I bought it. At Denham motorsport it has a 12,000 mile warranty. I really didn’t want to put the same bearings back in.. I guess that I will wait till I get the new bearings from them and see if I can cross reference better bearing

With the bike up on the stand, did you try to shake the wheel back and forth, to see if there is any side play or slop?

I believe it is in early stage of failure, of i kept riding it I’m sure it would develop play in the rear wheel. |
