VadarBD125 Clutch cover removal and access to shifter

The Shifter mechanism has always been notchy. Have already adjusted clutch engagement point that did eliminate clutch drag.
The persistent refusal to find neutral while running had me removing right side engine case and cover plate secured by 4 Phillips screws. The notched alignment gear attached to the clutch shaft will not slide out (as shown in several YouTube vids) no matter penetrating spray, twisting with pliers, propane torch and levering with gear puller fingers.
At this point I’m ready to sell “as is” if I’m not able to access the shift mechanism!

Don’t know if the url will allow viewing of photo. Not the easiest way to access my photos!
