Doc's (and Roger's) new desert tanks.
Kind of ghetto I know but it beats pushing. 1.5L each bottle, and we each have two. They are very strong extruded aluminum and seal positively. 2 fit in the water bottle carrying side pouches of my backpack. As a bonus, although I got them mostly for my YZ, I can certainly use them for the KLX as well. The plan is to empty them into the tank when I use up 3/4 gallon. That way I don't have to carry the weight after about 30 miles on the YZ, or 40 miles on the KLX.

Good choice, Doc.
I can vouch for the toughness of the Primus/MSR/Sigg fuel bottles. I have a well dented Sigg from the 70s that still sports a $4.95 price tag from Eddie Bauer, back when they could really be called 'Eddie Bauer'. There is also the MSR bottle that survived the car/bicycle altercation of 2007.

I think they're a good solution. I might have shown you when I was at your house that these bottles fit perfectly into a manual canister. If you can find a place to strap a manual canister (like between the triples), you don't have to have them bouncing in a backpack.
One solution is a Quick Fist rubber strap that is used for small fire extinguishers. Manual canister: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OPERATOR...item19e5600ffd Quick Fist: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-QUICK-...87cd29&vxp=mtr

You can also simply attach the bottles with Quick Fist straps, without the JATO rockets. Several riders on the TW forum have packed fuel that way.
