Throttle cable not in correct position. Slide not installed correctly. Combo of both.

Did you mess with/adjust any of the "adjustment screws" on the carb yet? Most of these cheapo carbs have 2 adjustments ("Idle speed" and "Pilot Jet" screws) that you will need to work out when it is installed on the engine.
Maybe the "Idle Speed" screw (on the side of the carb) needs a bit of adjusting still? If the cable and slide is good, maybe start the bike and slowly Lefty Loosey that screw until the Idle drops down, then adjust everything again when the engine is up to operating temps

I tried yesterday adjusting the one and only screw on the right side of the carb. it did nothing. I'll double check when I get home the throttle adjustment on the handle bar to see if that does anything.

I had the same issue when I installed mine.
Check that the throttle cable didn't get twisted when you screwed the slide cap on. If that doesn't work you may have to cut back some wraps on the cable casing so you can get more length on the exposed throttle cable. I cut back about 1/4" |

after u mention it I did remember that the throttle cable did twist. I thought nothing of it until your comment. being such a tight space I was just glad to get it screwed on. I'll undo it and see if that remedies it.

Yeah you want to make sure when the throttle isn't touched the slide is completely blocking off the main air intake.
If its open its gonna run high. |

If you used the old cable with the new carb it could well be that
the old cable is not compatable with the new carb.. cables travel is to short which would hold the slide slightly open... On a unloaded motor it dosn't have to be open very much to make it run at very high rpm's.. wined all the cable adjuster in at both ends.. see if that helps any... PS... don't get into the jets yet..this issue has nothing to do with them.. ..

My cousin actually did me a favor and fixed it while I was at work to save me time. I'm not sure what he did but I did mention cutting back some on the cable sleeve. I believe that took care of it. It does run and idle perfect. Thanks for all the help and tips from everyone. I'm definitely not done with upgrades. Many more to come. Work is picking up so my time with the bikes has slowed down.

Yah...sometimes the end of the cable won't sit all the way down in the slide cap. Happened to mine. A little relieving and it'a sall good. Glad to hear you're making good progress!
These Rhino's may not be the cats meow of the atv world, but for the money, you can't beat 'em. They can take a hell of a thrashing.

My cousin said he had to change the drop set of the needle. He said it was at the highest setting.
