Chinese Bike History in the USA

For those of you who have more experience with these bikes state side, could you please give details on different Chinese bikes that have been offered here in the states, models, their evolution, etc. I am working on a few youtube videos I would like to give a rough history of Chinese bikes in the USA. Credit will be given both to the forum and to users who give input.

I've been around since 2006; If I think about it I could probably bore you with what I can remember! Some of the brands off the top of my head would include Roketa, Shineray, Jetmoto, Lifan ( the GY200-5 model was probably the first EPA/DOT Chinese dual-sport, and probably the equivalent in market share as the Hawk 250 percentage wise, not number of sales).

Yes, I forgot, and thanks to others, like yourself, brings back more memories. KPX had a short successful run selling rebranded Zongshen bikes. They actually had parts. Not sure what happened, but they stopped selling bikes. One brand I forgot about, which brought us probably the first "250" (really 223cc or thereabouts ) dual-sport was Asiawing. Asiawing are STILL around, but their dual-sport was probably a one-or half- container special back in 2006 or 2007. Sold by Odes. Later on, Hi-bird had a very successful run of its "250" cc dual-sport. Not long after, Hensim (currently with the Hawk) had a few container run of its "250" dual-sport. The Hi-Bird and Hensim models were the first above 200cc bikes offered on a big scale in the US. Speaking of the bike Spudrider made famous, that bike was rebranded and sold by both Qlink AND Vento. But, it was Spudrider who made it 'famous.' Oh, and these bikes were generally sold primarily on Ebay for $1000/shipped.
