wouldn't the the PCV system need to be hooked to the intake? If not it's not going to have the positive pressure I would think.

Those are the ones if you get them make sure you also get a can of UNI pre oil. and you will have to do a re jet and use a quality exhaust.

Retaining a PCV system is ideal. Air box mods generally require a re-jet, assuming the mod actually changes air flow. Doing the mod to a pod filter may or may not add power, but will definitely add noise. There is no requirement to combine it with an exhaust system as someone else stated. Combining the two should bring the best performance, but neither is dependent on the other.

If your seeking (performance) just use the UNI filters UP-6182AST 1 3/4 ID x 6" HGT & UNI UP-122 3/8 Breather Filter, but as I stated you will need to perform a (rejet) & either (change the exhaust) or free up the stock one. Trust me I've Been in the motor sports industry for 17 years. I need to mention I'm a speed freak & some mods I do & or use are extensive & you may not be willing to do the mods to your bike that i would do to mine.

not sure who is saying what, but look at it this way, assuming the engine is tuned correctly balanced from the factory, simply put, if you improve the breathing at the front, you need to similarly improve the exhaust flow at the rear. more power comes from burning more fuel, at an optimal stichiometrically correct ratio. more fuel air in/ more fuel air out.

I've installed several of these, with good results: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-42mm-B...FUi8Cu&vxp=mtr
