Never too old.

Hi all, I'm celebrating my 75th birthday this month. I've been riding, off and on, for 60 years. I just sold my Columbia assembled Chinese bike (AKT Sport Classic) with 150cc Honda CG clone engine last month. It served me well (after some teething issues) for 4 years, but I'm leaving Panama, after 41 years, to go home to Texas.

I have my eye on a Hawk 250 Endure, and already this site has provided me with some valuable information. I will do my own wrenching, and look forward to riding in Texas

CrankyHank

Welcome to here! It seems like you will be in good company with the Hawk as there are many members with Hawks. Have you been watching Motocheez's videos on youtube regarding his Hawk? It should be mandatory viewing to watch his technical videos (he has numerous riding ones, and several critical, mechanical videos) to see the ins and outs of the Hawk.

Yes, I'm watching his and others' videos. I already knew some of it from riding a Chinese bike for four years, but there is a lot I didn't know, or hadn't thought about. Excellent resource.

When wrenched right the hawk can be a perfect balance of easy riding and moderate adventuring. You will find that the aftermarket for the hawk 250 is pretty expansive.

I wonder what 'brand' name the Hawk is sold under down there? They are made by Hensim/Haosen as far as OEM goes.

I've never seen one in Panama.

CrankyHank is in his PRIME! I knew Bob Fletcher of Fletcher’s Harley Davidson. In 2003, Bob RODE from Clearwater, Fl up to Milwaukee for Harley’s 100th Anniversary. Bob was 81 and he rode a Screaming Eagle RoadKing!

CrankyHank has many more adventures ahead! AND we want to hear about them!

Welcome aboard. Wise choice on color. The black Hawks are well known for being the fastest color. I plan on riding as long as I can. I just hope my body thinks so too.
