Registration tax on bikes

Hey guys. So I just registered my tt250 in Tennessee. In addition to the purchase price of the bike, I had to pay tax on the transport/assembly/ doc fee that was on the bill of sale from CSC. Is that standard or did I get hosed? Initially the woman helping said I didn't have to pay the ocean transport fee but then her boss said I had to... It was like 260$ : /

This is what I paid in Texas last week on my Bashan Storm.

Title application fee = $13
Texas mobility fund = $20
Sales tax fee = $79.06
Plate sticker = $30
Reg fee-DPS = $1
cnty road bridge add-on fee = $10
Child safety fund = $1.50
Inspection fee-TLMC = $7.50
Processing and handling fee = $4.75

Gotcha! I got ahold of someone ( after waiting an eternity on hold) at the tax office in Nashville. She seemed slightly confused as well, but said I would be responsible for the total amount on the bill of sale including transport fees.

you may have paid a bit more couse the bike comes from china after you ordered it ???,did you wait i know the tt turned me off couse the total was like near $2400.00 vs 1400.00 shipped for the hawk vs the upgrades around $400.00 or less ,will see i got mine figured to $76.00 in NH live free or Die ,they say 18.00 for every thousand in value an title fee ,they may value the bike at like $3000.00 or more ,i cant remember what i paid for the roketa 250,but hear save on sales tax,so yes i was allway told it goes by the value they somehow determin at the dmv ,my 2017 jeep $658.00 for the first year then supposed to go down to 500.00 + this year ,so bye that figure i think its about 100.00 more for some reason

CSC basically charges the cost of the bike + $55 Doc fee + $345 Assembly/ Inspection/ Ocean Transport. They have the bikes in stock though ( or note it otherwise) so it's not coming directly from China to your door.

In Tennessee it's usually around $100 per thousand. That's just to title it. Then like $25 or so for sticker. Not sure on the cost of the plate itself.
