New guy Panama City, FL

Wow, my story is like so many others here. Started many years ago with a 1971 Yamaha Mini Enduro, then bought a 1981 Honda XL200R, great bike, sold them both way back when. Have always been looking to get another just haven't justified the prices these bikes have gotten up to.

Those XL200R's can still be found, but it would be a 38 year old motorcycle with a huge amount of miles for $2000 to $3000 bucks? Really?

Then I came across the Hawk 250 for a reasonable amount of money. Been reading all about it ever since. I just have to convince the wife. She's a firm no but i'm still wearing her down.

Any advice to convince the wife that I can still ride safely?

Thanks for reading,

TheMissile

Welcome! The Hawk is quite popular here, but there are other bikes and brands bringing joy and smiles to members, too.

So that’s how JerryHawk250 pulled it off!!!! Make her believe it’s for HER!!!

I like to use the Great gas mileage (work the green angle) and there is always motorcycle parking! Don’t forget the wear and tear you are saving on other vehicles. Plus some of these motorcycles are less than the price of a high end TV! Remember that crazy Guys weekend get-a-way? Yeah, it will cost way, way, way less than that!!!

Be creative! Think outside the cage!

Hi mr missile, there is a 200xlr, or was, in southern, idaho or western WY. check out ksl.com, and search their classifieds. A lot of us locals close to Salt Lake, use them. Yup, tell the mrs., bike is for her, make her breakfast in bed.

In tent city, buy some really expensive whiskey, since you no longer will have the debit card or the checkbook! Maybe a sign saying your homeless and need donations!
