Northern Indiana and need advice!

Hey all,
Been using this forum for a while and decided to join. I'm on the fence about buying a CB. I'm 50 y/o and don't do any MX or harsh riding. These bikes would fit my riding style for sure, and the prices are great.

My question for you "in the know" folks is this:

Has anyone purchased anything from Alibaba, and more specifically, from Japanese suppliers?
The CB bike model I like the most is the Magician for reasons I won't get into here, but I'd really like to have the real thing, which we all know is the Yamaha Tricker. I found a seller on Alibaba that claims they can sell me one and ship it directly to my door in Indiana in 5-7 days. This is a Japanese seller, no China stuff and the price is unreal.

Perhaps this needs to go in another forum?

Hello and welcome aboard. Word of caution. They might very well be willing to sell you a bike but will you be able to get it through customs? Will it have a dot cert? Can you get it licensed? I hope it works out and you enjoy whatever you end up with!

Welcome Scott. What dpl096 mentioned is crucial. There have been people who have ordered bikes, engines, etc to only have them confiscated at customs. When that happens you will be up turd creek without a paddle and out your money and the bike. The paperwork and process of bringing a vehicle over can be quite complex, and if you even get one thing wrong with it the vehicle will end up being held, and if you can't resolve the issue, lost.

Good advice, my new friends. I'd love nothing more than to have an authentic Yamaha Tricker shipped to my door, I'm just not sure it would be worth the risk. Especially when all I'm getting from him is a couple misc pictures and no website link. Wish there was a better way to buy non-USA bikes. Oh well...Maybe I'll just do the Magician or keep looking for an old Yami
