Whoa. 8O

I must say, it never occurred to me to ride a sled on water.

Believe me, my sled has been under water a few times, pull the plugs, turn it over til no more water comes out, put a little fuel in the cylinders, put plugs back in and away you go, and my engine is still going strong many years later, the biggest problem sinking a sled is water getting into the fuel tank or chaincase, oh yeah, you must also remember to hit the kill button as your going down.

Well, if you are water skipping on a snowmobile you will know if you are not going to make it. Kill the engine before the water reaches the intake and only alittle water will make it in. If the piston are not moving no real damage occurs.

Most hydrolocked engines are done while under load causing damage.

I did something like that in the seventies on an old Polaris race sled, but not on purpose.

Balls to wall on the Fox River, in January, between Silver Lake and Wilmot, WI. Found open water and didn't realize what I was seeing until I was on top of it and then I was across it. Couldn't have been more than 25' across but looked like a mile. Got off the river ASAP.

I was wet, but not from the water I crossed.

Pilots say you can make a brick fly, if you attach a big enough engine to it. These modern sleds are so powerful, it doesn't surprise me they can "walk on water."

Thanks for posting another interesting video, Allen.
