Doh! Throttle cable snappppped at 1450 miles

So i went on a nice cruise with my buddy. About an hour away from home. Made it there no problem. About ten minutes in on the way home the throttle cable is fringed to just 2 little pieces holding it on the connection piece to the throttle. I managed to make it home using the throttle like it had a bomb attached with a sensitivity trap on it. I was a happy i made it home!!! Now should i blow almost 40 on the one fromm the Brozz250 site, 11.99 for part 22.00 for shipping!!! Theres gotta be an alternative. Also do you think thats something i should get for freeee!?? From Mr Jeff at PeacePowersports? CONSIDERING I HAD THE BIKE A COUPLE MONTHS... It's Sunday or i would have tried to give him a call. Any suggestions would be appreciated for a quick easy durable replacement. Also a side note is this why we lube cables!!!???

It's likely that any similar bike that uses the same carb would use the same cable. Make sure there are no sharp turns or chafing points and lube often.

Its possible to make your own cable from a bicycle shift cable if you have the tools.

If it has only been a couple of months, try and get one under warranty.

Thanks I'll give him a call tomorrow see what he'll do for me. Although I'm kinda impatient and want something less flimsy. Just curious if anyone swapped the throttle on their china bike.

I would get an actual shipping quote from them, sounds like they have the weight wrong or something. I bought a front brake rotor from them and it was less then that.

Send an email to this address with what you need.

You can always build your own cable using a venhill kit. Good quality components in the kit, just requires cutting to length and soldering the barrel.

I hope Piece motors is better than the 2 companies I bought my bikes from! It’s next to impossible to get any warranty parts from them. They will not take calls on warranty claims emails only then they ignore the emails. So frustrating, there has to be a better way.

I was just watching videos on something like that. They send out cable cable housing etc. You just have to fabricate and solder as you mentioned. Looks to be fairly easy. I'm gonna do some more research and decide. As far as trying to get a new one under warranty goes i won't bother.

I think the quick twist throttle kits come with a cable, but I'm not sure on that. I had the throttle cable snap on an old Can Am 175 about 10" from the top of the carb. That was a fun 12 mile ride home. If I remember correctly we rigged up a 10 speed shifter cable on it after.

Under 3 months from purchase date and it will be covered under warranty. Provide VIN if so.

Shipping for the website is weird; it uses a tiered system based on price. Call the store and ask for Melinda for single item small parts. Should be able to drop shipping a bit going USPS vs the website Fedex 2-3 day estimates.
