wow its been a long time

Whats going on guys. So I had planed on getting a hawk dlx. Was tired of waiting and got a brozz. I put it together last summer and was having a tough time riding it. I dropped it, bent the hand brake lever and my buddy came over, he races bikes. Dialed in the clutch and carb but we broke the brake lever trying to straigten it. So its been sitting a long time. But my cousin came over and hes like 6'6'' and the bike fit him way better than me. I'm 5'9.
So two questions and its been so long since I put it together I cant remember.
Is there a lower position so I can ride and hopefully not drop it since im on my tip toes.

What is a part number for the brake lever. Peace wants 65$ for the whole assembly shipped.
I was going to take lever into a shop and match it but I think i lost the part.

You just have to get used to the size, and wear good, sturdy boots. I learned to ride on a 1990 DR250s that a friend wanted to get rid of because he was going into the Gulf War--he sold the bike to me where I just had to take over the rest of the payments. I never dropped it and it really got me learning how to use my leg muscles. I didn't always use boots, either, but thinking back, I think I probably should have.

Upgrade the entire brake and clutch assembly. You'll get better levers and have and easier time buying replacement levers if you do break one.

Levers for a Honda Grom and CB300 and 500X also fit the Hawk perches, so you can take your pick of used OEM or aftermarket options for those, including some adjustable units if so desired.

If you want to try and lower the bike a little to help you can install shorter rear shock. In rough terms, every 10mm shorter on the shock is about 1 inch lower height. The standard Hawk rear shock is 320mm center to center, not sure if the DLX is the same or not.

Also, if you want to bend levers, you need to use a propane torch to heat it up before bending. I've rebent levers dozens of times, you just have to heat it until it 'wants' to bend.

Afaik, all of the information still applies aside from the stock shock lengths. The brozz rear shock is 305mm, give or take from what I know.

You could probably get away with running the same rear shock I have on my Hawk with the Brozz swing arm on it. Might not lower it quite as much as my bike, but I imagine it would be very close to the same as the Brozz swing arm mount point is higher than the Hawks, and when installed on a Hawk with the original shock lifts the back end a decent amount. If the Brozz shock is indeed 305mm, it would lower your rear end about 2 inches.

Theshock in question is the Fast Ace BDA-01AR shock with the 1000lb spring rate. It's a bit more expensive than the cheapie shocks others use, but it's worth the extra cost. The eyes have proper bearings, and the damping is phenomenal as well as the damping adjustment actually works. It also has more travel than most of those cheap shocks as well. It rides amazingly, and the 1000lb single rate spring is more than adequte for the job without being too heavy, even for my fat butt. I honestly cannot recommend it enough.

It will, but it will also drop the back end of the TT250 and Hawk a lot more. The Brozz swingarm has a higher shock mounting point on the swing arm, and as such means a shorter shock is used to achieve the same ride height.
