2021 Lifan KP-Mini SS3 (New Facelift)

Hi Guys,

Got our new Lifan KP-Mini SS3 in and did an unboxing video.

This bike is Super Nice. The build quality just like the X-Pect and KPM is excellent. Oil looked good (though I changed it immediately).

My only comparison is our Benelli TNT135 (which I sold). This bike is faster, feels more planted, and is a hoot.

It's as fast (if not faster) than the X-Pect. Shinko's DS are on the to do list.

I have the KP-Moto exhaust I'll be installing on it in another video.

I like that color. I do recall the EPA/DOT list in 2020 or '21 showing 2 different KPMinis; it appeared one had an upgraded engine. I recall a tad bit more horsepower was shown on the upgraded engine (maybe also called the NBF 2 like the KPM200 which also has an upgraded engine vs. the KPR/KP200). Some have insisted there is no difference in engines with the 'new' bikes (as shown on the American Lifan site) vs. the existing bikes.

I'm pretty sure it stated NBF on it somewhere, I'll have to check again.

But it's definitely as fast as the X-Pect for a 150cc, and it's carb'd. Not as fast as the KPM. Dunno what they did to the KPM, but it's pretty fast (to me) and it's bone stock.

On the Chinese Lifan home site, they mention the KPM200 having an NBF II engine (which I am guessing is 'new and improved' over the NBF of the KP/KPR200. The KPM200 is on its own EPA/DOT certificate in the 'On-highway motorcycle' class of bikes, while the KP/KPR200 are on their own certificate. The specs show a slight hp increase for the KPM, too.

The home site does not state anything 'improved' for the Mini, other than 'NBF engine' but the American Lifan site shows the 'New' Mini at 13 hp, and I could have sworn when we first got it a few years ago, it was advertised at 12 hp which, combined with the 5-speed transmission, was still an improvement over the name-brand Grom and Z125.

Are you going to start selling Lifan bikes at a dealership? You have 3 of them if memory serves me correct, like you are evaluating them. Heck, you could probably write them off as a business expense!

Lol, you you are correct. I have three of them. I do evaluate them, but unfortunately I also pay for them.

The X-Pect is rated at 14hp and the Mini at 13 and the X-Pect is a bit heavier 286. The KPM is almost 17hp but is also 330ish lbs.

I've thought about becoming a dealer, but have no clue how to do that.

In the meantime, I ride one here, one there and make a few video's.

Nice! I have an orange one too! But it’s been giving me some trouble at idle. It runs fine if I crank it up high (around 3K) but... yea. It is a great bike. Shifts smooth, runs well and it’s a lot of fun!
