Storm wiring insulation

When I was working on the Storm this Winter, I wanted to secure all of the wiring behind the headlight, under the instrument cluster. I didn't do a great job of it last year when I assembled the bike and I could hear it flopping around while riding.

I have read about chafed wires and resulting shorting/blowing main fuse on this forum! So I got a roll of old fashioned friction tape, and reinforced some of the wires where they seemed to be prone to contacting metal:



This is one example. I wrapped a few other places as well.

I found a nice heavy metal loop welded into the frame on the front of the steering column. I saved the mega twist ties that came in the crate (my son's TBR7), and used one to secure the wires up close in there. I thought other Storm owners might like to know about this nice wiring mounting loop. I don't know what it is really for. Maybe it is in fact for securing wires.

I feel much better having all of these wires tightly secured and held up in there on this mounting hoop.
