The Dirt Rat nears compleation!
I got out of work early. Went for a hike with Miss Megan , and then still had enough time to get The Dirt Rat dirty. I could really feel the difference in the front suspension since I serviced it! I love this bike! It's running even stronger now that the motor is breaking in.
Bill and Megan on top of Badger Mountain (1,300 feet, nothing like Spud's mountain  ) The Dirt Rat on top of the hills by my house, about 1,500 feet. You can see a little of town in the background of some of the pics:

The presence of Miss Megan greatly enhances the scenery at any location. Oh...the Dirt Rat looks pretty good, also.

Thanks Spud.
You are correct. She makes any place nicer just by being there. The Dirt Rat is also way cool. I'm glad you all egged me on and encouraged me through the build, as this was blazing new ground, at least on a small scale for us. The more I ride it the less I think I'll sell it. For the $600 or so I have into it (forget the time.... :? ) it's a keeper.

Has Miss Megan ridden the Dirt Rat yet? I imagine it's relatively tame with the Lifan, vs. the higher compression XR200R engine.

Tame but not neutered. It's got power but no real aggression. An excellent balance. She's not ridden it yet, I have yet to even get her on the XR100's. Her schedule, and mine, have been tight lately.

My request to be clubbed to death still stands. 8O As far as wanting me to get to The Dirt Rat, maybe, but I actually think she just likes ME! Who'd have thought?

The Dirt Rat and I had a great ride today! Again in the local hills around my home. Tomorrow it will go on the trailer out to the riding area along the river.
The Dirt Rat on the crest of the hills, about 1,500'. Here's the view from on top of The Hill. Again, there is not way to capture in a picture how knarly this SOB is. One time I'll set my phones GPS to record the distance and elevation change, therefore the grade. I'm curious. New decals on the shiney swingarm. New Acerbis universal rear fender.

The new, rear fender looks great! You did a very nice job painting the swingarm, and the decals also look very good.

That rear fender looks really good! Did you need to modify it to fit? Where did you get it? Son of Weldangrind wants one bad.
Time to paint the frame.
