Shinerays

I have the oppurtunity to get a shineray 200cc dual sport bike. I was wondering what you guys think of these bikes? Honestly, I haven't read too many good things on china bikes in general. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

Shineray

I just finished putting mine together and so far I'm pretty impressed. I bought it from Evo sports for 1199.00 shipped to my door. It showed up in a steel crate/ cardboard box. No damage and looker very well packed. I've read a bunch of stuff on these Chinese dual sports with everyone saying to make sure and change the oil and lock tite all the fasteners. The oil inside the motor looked and felt really good with a small shell sticker on the engine letting you know what kind of oil it was. I didn't find a single loose bolt and the couple I did take out had already been lock tited so I didn't bother taking any more out. The only issue I had was the right side cover didn't line up very well. I started it for the first time tonight and other than a small cough in the engine which in relating to the cheap spark plugs they use it ran great. Can't wait to take it out on the road. I'm also pretty impressed with Evo sports. They got the bill of sale and MSO to me quickly. One other thing. All the nuts and bolts have a mark painted on them to let you know if they loosened up which I don't even know if you see that on the gap bikes. I'll let you know how it holds up. So far im happy with my purchase.

Welcome to these forums, gentlemen! As Sallzy has testified, the Shineray bikes represent good value. If you have time, please do post some photographs of your new bike, Sallzy; we love photographs!

Shineray

Pics will be comming soon.and I'll let you know if an ngk plug takes care of the idle miss. Is there a good place to buy a hi po coil and plug wire? I was reading on another post about someone selling a coil with a nology wire and it made an impressive improvement to throttle response.

Fine looking machine. For a person tall enough to reach the ground comfortably, it's one of the best learner bikes available.

Yep! Looks like another good Hondanoid! It sure seems that between getting involved with Q this year and also importing more aggressively, Shineray is taking the north American market far more seriously now.

...and Doc, I was very concerned with the X-moto I have for Mrs 2LZ being to tall. Luckily, after a few good rock poundings out at our local OHV park, the rear shock sacked enough and she's fairly comfy on it now!
The rack on it is probably the best rack I've seen on any motorcycle, ever. Seriously.

The HSUN Hondoid I had had a very strong rack also. It really was a pretty good bike. I don't remember exactly but I think I had about 4,000KM on it when I sold it to buy a Q a few years ago.

The Chinese build a good luggage rack. The rack on my Zongshen 200GY-2 is very strong!

You're not kidding! They have good, strong welds, long stantions that reach far into the bike, 4 bolt points that are far from each other for maximum stability and no twisting, an actual welded backrest to snug things to and little pegs for tie-downs, welded on! 8O
All other manufacturers should take a note from the Chinese on "Rack Building 101".

I have the same bike in black and white, I love it!, I use it for light trail riding and getting to and from work and such. I have jetted the carb, made some vairous improvements on the bike. I installed a racing cdi and a emgo pood filter, and dropped the rear sprocket to a 46 tooth. It cruses at about 60mph well.

Chris, if you don't mind me asking, where'd you pick up your shine? Also where'd you get your jets and sprockets from?

So the ngk plug didn't take care of the idle miss. Moving the needle jet clip to the 2nd slot from the top and adjusting the idle mixture screw did take care of the miss. It idles a lot better now. I'm pretty impressed with evosales. I called and told them about the idle issues I was having and they sent me a new pz30 carb free. How many companies do that now a days. I'll be buying my next one from them too.
