I saw a brief article about the drum charger a while back on NewAtlas.com. It was a crowd funding item at the time, as I recall.
You link contains far more info than the NA article.

Took the 125cc up to 68 mph with 25% torque increase...something going on in there.
15-25% more torque over a wide engine speed range With a longer final drive the same top speed (105-110 km/h) is achieved

A very clever and simple idea. If you have a riding lawnmower with a rear fuel tank, it works on the same principle as a Briggs & Stratton or other brand engines fuel pump. Instead of using vacuum pulses to pump fuel, it uses exhaust pulses to pump air. The advantage of this type of supercharger is a steady boost in torque from low down in the rev range. Done right, this could elevate the engine used in the Hawk (and others) to the performance level of a 350cc engine without over stressing the engine. I would have never thought that plastic could have stood the exhaust heat. My guess is that they don't need much exhaust flow to make it pump air. Wish I'd thought of it!!!...ARH

you could replace the airbox on a hawk with one since it has its own filter |

I contacted them, they gave me a line about being involved with several OEM's interested in the TECH. and cant sell to individuals while the talks are ongoing...
Boy have I heard that before.. I doubt this tech will never see the light of day. this is how they make new inventions disapear. |
