I have to replace the front rim so....

I want to replace the tires as well. I ride 90% on the street with my hawk and want something like the Shinko 705. I read the reviews and short of going with a straight street tire I think these will serve my purpose better than the stock knobby tires for sure.

I did a search and believe these to be the sizes I need? Please correct me if I am wrong.

90/90-21
4.10-18

Those sizes will work.

I ran a 120/80-18 on the rear, so that is also an option. Slightly smaller diameter from a 110/100-18, so it does gear down the overall final drive the equivalent of going up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket.

Pictures here will give you an idea of the fitment of said size.

I recently did the math myself and ordered a set of 50/50s - Shinko 244s. They aren't on it yet, but I went with:

F: 3.00-21
R: 4.10-18

The 244 is a great tire, but given his 90% road use, the 705 is a much better option. I love my 705's. They barely show any signs of wear even after 800 miles.

Oh, and just for future reference, the stock 110 width tire is 4.33". So a 4.10 will be a bit skinnier, and a 4.6 a bit wider. Both will work fine.

Sure - just trying to provide a size comparison for him, not the type of tire to go with.
